Describing your vacations and asking questions about someone's recent vacations

The unit follows the case study of two people discussing their recent vacations. With the help of the story, the unit explores vocabulary and syntax used to hold an upper intermediary conversation about activities during your's or another's recent vacations.

Hours: Approximately 7 hours

Unit Objectives:

  1. By the end of the unit, you should be able to:
    • Describe and answer questions about your recent holidays: Where you went, who you went with, how long you went, where you stayed, when you got back, etc.
    • Ask questions about someone's recent holidays: Where they went, who they went with, how long they went, where they stayed when they got back, etc.
    • Describe someone's recent holidays: Where they went, who they went with, how long they went, where they stayed, when they got back, etc.
  2. The unit explores general vocabulary to ask and answer questions about your or someone's recent holidays. The unit provides the language needed to formulate answers and ask questions (where you went, who with, how long for, etc.). For students to explore a vocabulary best suited to their context, the unit incorporates various spoken exercises to build the vocabulary linked to each student's personal experience.
