Talking about daily life at school

Using the case study of two friends that meet on a bus, the unit explores the vocabulary and syntax needed to hold an intermediate conversation about daily routine studying.

Hours: Approximately 10 hours

Unit Objectives:

  1. By the end of the unit, you should be able to:
    • Describe what subjects you're studying, how long you've been studying, and at what hours your classes start and finish.
    • Ask someone what subjects they're studying, how long they've been studying, and at what hours their classes start and finish.
    • Describe someone else's daily study routine: what subjects they're studying, how long they've been studying, and at what hours their classes start and finish.
  2. The unit explores essential vocabulary and syntax used to describe one's studies and daily routine when studying. The unit provides the wording needed to formulate answers and ask questions, as well as very general vocabulary that could apply to many people and their studies. Guided exercises are paired with various spoken activities to help students explore the language best suited to their context, such as studies, hobbies, etc.
