This course aims to teach students numbers. Students will learn the names and pronunciation of numbers from 1 to a million. Starting with numbers from 1 to 10, students will gradually progress until they can count and recognize seven-digit numbers. Spoken exercises are combined with written ones. The goal is for students to be able to write numbers down as figures, when dictated at a natural pace.

These exercises can be done as individual classes or paired with other topics. Ideally, students can use these exercises to take a break from the content provided in the regular units. 

For better retention, we suggest that these be learned gradually over multiple lessons rather than all at once. 

Hours: Approximately 2 hours

Course objectives

By the end of the course, students should be:

• • Comfortable counting numbers from 1 to 1,000,000.
  • Able to understand and write numbers down as figures.
  • Able to dictate numbers from 1 to 1,000,000.
