Identifying objects and their location
The topic’s objective is to familiarize students with essential vocabulary and syntax necessary to ask where certain items are and answer questions about where things are.

Role Play
1. Listen to the conversation without stopping the recording.

Jean: In the car.
Andy: Where’s the car?
Jean: It’s right there, out front.
Andy: Where?
Jean: Out there, in the street.
Andy: And my phone?
Jean: It’s in the bag.
Andy: Where’s the bag?
Jean: Over there!
Andy: Ok! Ahh… do you know where my camera is?
Jean: Yes, I do. It’s in the basket, and the basket’s on the chair… Come on!
Andy: Coming!
Where are Tom and Pat?
Jean: Tom’s on the bag.
Andy: And what about Pat?
Jean: He’s under the car.

- Do the exercise at least twice for each role, then switch roles.

- Now, one person asks the questions using the text as support, the other answers without looking at it.
- Finally, act out the roles without the text or the recording.

In the street, he didn’t know where the cat and dog were. The cat was on the car, and the dog was asleep under the car.
Man: Oh well. Come on.
